Intrinsic Digital Takes Strides Against Breast Cancer

Kate Trigg

Here at Intrinsic Digital, we don't just talk the talkwe walk the walk. When one of our clients asked us if we'd like to join them in participating in a walk to support a worthy cause, we eagerly embraced the opportunity.

It Started with an Email

While offering support to our clients for their upcoming 2024 employee meetings and conferences, a longtime client of ours, Elaine De Lude of LIVEbe Communities, mentioned that instead of an employee meeting, her company was participating in the  Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in October, and invited Intrinsic Digital to join in.

About the Walk

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, organized by the American Cancer Society, has evolved into the nation's largest breast cancer movement over the past three decades. This year's walk in Baltimore, MD, presented by Maryland Oncology Hematology, was the perfect chance for our Maryland-based team to contribute.

"Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a celebration of courage and hope, a movement uniting communities to end breast cancer as we know it, for everyone. For three decades, these 3- to 5-mile non-competitive walks have collectively grown into the nation’s largest and most impactful breast cancer movement – providing a supportive community for courageous breast cancer survivors and metastatic breast cancer thrivers, caregivers, and families alike."

Putting Our Money Where Our Mouth Is

Of course, before we started the walk, we needed to gather support. With social posts from our CEO, Matthew Kilmurry, and the walkers, Intrinsic Digital was able to surpass our goal of $1,000 raised, with a total of $1,333 to donate to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

If you missed our posts and would still like to make a contribution, it's not too late! Donations are still being accepted through the end of the year on our profile.

Rallying the Troops & Hitting the Pavement

Kate Trigg (Marketing) organized the effort and gathered three other exemplary (Maryland) employees: Alana Redgraves (Campaign Team), Maria Tonson (Campaign Team), and Regan Jennings (Accounting) to join her in the cause. They designed special pink Intrinsic Digital t-shirts, coordinated ride shares with each other, and met early Saturday morning, October 21st, to get to work. Walking, that is!

After a quick peek at the sponsor tents and swag (pink beads were a must!), along with a couple of photo opps (see our video on the left!), it was time to hit the pavement.

Amidst the sea of pink-clad supporters, we started the ~1.5 mile walk around Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium, complete with designated hype-persons along the sidelines cheering us on. Team Intrinsic Digital adjusted their paces so the team could stay unified. Together, we crossed the finish line with pride, knowing that we completed something together as a team and made a tangible difference for something near and dear to our hearts.

Showing Our Appreciation

A special thanks to Matthew for generously pledging $100 for each participating employee and to our diverse group of donors (family members, teammates, clients, and more) for their contributions. Your support fueled REAL progress in the fight against breast cancer.

Dedications

In dedication for those who have faced breast cancer, we walked for Patricia Vale, Cathy Robson, and Jane Wilhelm. 🎗️

Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to our employees, donors, and special guests of Maria and Regan, Jordan Fuller and James Jennings, who also participated on Team Intrinsic Digital.

As we reflect on this year's walk, one lesson for next year—more pink!
